Cas Fiols is situated in the foothills of the Tramuntana Mountains which run from the South West of Mallorca up to the North Easterly tip of the Island.

The whole area is incredibly beautiful, but our valley, the Soller Valley, is a true gem filled with orange and lemon groves, a charming traditional Mallorcan town with its large square and cafe bars, and its stunning natural port with a marina for yacht lovers and white sandy beaches which are safe for family bathing.

The Soller valley is a favourite desination for nature lovers and walkers (we can arrange guided walks with our colleagues at Tramuntana Tours), it has many places of interest to explore, like the villages of Fornalutx and Biniaraix, or a drive through the Mountains to Deia (where Robert Graves wrote many of his literary masterpieces), Valldemossa (where Chopin stayed in the Monastery) or Lluc, high in the mountains past the Cuber reservoir.

But also it is the ideal place to come to relax, sit back and take in the beauty of the area.

Soller has a fabulous old town square which is a bustling meeting place with numerous shops, bars, cafes, and restaurants.  There is  a small daily market and every Saturday the Market spills out onto the streets selling local cheeses, shoes, and handicrafts.  The square is dominated by the church of Sant Bartomeu and the old tram which connects Soller to Port Soller every 30 minutes.

You can also take the old wooden train into Palma via the amazing orange tree valleys, with spectacular scenery. Or, if you would like to get to Palma a little quicker then the bus service takes 30 minutes and drops you off in the centre of Palmas vibrant city life.

The Port is set around a natural horse-shoe bay.  It has sandy beaches to the Repic side (to the left when driving to the port) and the marina is to the right.  There are many fabulous restaurants and bars around the bay which range from small local cafes to internationally rated.  You can also board boat trips to the cove at Sa Calobra.  The port is an approximate 10 minute drive from Cas Fiols.

The nearest golf course is named Son Tremens and is approx. 15 min drive away. It is a very beautiful course with good prices and very pleasant staff.

Palma airport is a 30 min drive. Car hire is recommended and we will supply the directions.  The taxi fare is approx 50 euros if preferred (price at 2007).

Biniaraix - is a few min walk above us.
Soller is 10-15 min walk from our gate to the main square which is full of little cafes and restaurants.
Fornalutx (reputed to be one of the prettiest villages in Spain) is a 15-20 min walk uphill. There are several restaurants in Fornalutx.
Deia is a 20 min drive along the coast.

Soller has a full variety of shops, cafes and banks. There is one big supermarket which is adequate.  There are many large supermarkets just outside Palma which are about 20 minutes drive.
